			<title>Heaven Can Wait Receives Accreditation</title>
			<link>http://www.heaven-can-wait.net/site/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=62&amp;Itemid=35</link>
			<description>
To all our friends and supporters - a long awaited and hard won honor was received on 10/16/08 from the American Sanctuary Association:

HEAVEN CAN WAIT HAS BEEN AWARDED FULL SANCTUARY ACCREDITATION.

This means that HCW has met all the strict criteria to qualify for official accreditation and membership in the American Sanctuary Association (www.asasanctuaries.org). ASA does a very thorough investigation of every application for accreditation by an animal sanctuary in the US. Their approval and acceptance mean Heaven Can Wait has proved itself to be administered and run with integrity, quality, consistency, reliability and humaneness.

We are extremely proud to make this announcement and we thank each and every friend who has been so encouraging and supportive in more ways than would fit on a page.

			<title>Welcome</title>
			<link>http://www.heaven-can-wait.net/site/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=13&amp;Itemid=27</link>
			<description>Heaven Can Wait is committed to providing abused, neglected and unwanted equines a safe haven where they do not starve, where they will always receive quality care and treatment, someplace where they are safe from abuse, suffering and protected from ever ending up at auction. Along with the commitment to rescue the equines, is our commitment to provide the opportunity to educate children and adults about not only the enjoyment of owning an equine and the wonderful bond that can be created between humans and equines, but also about the responsibility, the knowledge, the costs, and the time that is required for such ownership. Only through education and awareness can we all improve the quality of life for all equines. Cruelty and neglect should never be acceptable options. We want to provide many happy endings to what otherwise would be only endings of misery and despair. That is our mission and we hope you will join us by sending us a donation to help us help the horses that so desperately need it.

 &amp;ldquo;Having a place to go where you are welcomed no matter how sick you feel, where you are supported and loved no matter how little you can give back, soaking up the peace and calm of the natural surroundings and the love of horses and their focus and ability to tune into our illness, hopes and fears&amp;hellip; it all works in unison for me when I am there, so strongly that my pain goes away and my identity as a cancer survivor goes away &amp;ndash; for that hour or so [when I work with the horses], I feel like a healthy, happy individual who has never been touched by such a devastating illness&amp;hellip;&amp;rdquo;
